Title: Paralegal
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
My client is a well-respected law firm with offices throughout the country. We are looking for a paralegal with defense litigation experience to join the firm and assist in its continued success. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in litigation. If that sounds like you, please apply!
What You Will Do
Assist attorneys throughout all phases of defense litigation, from case inception to trial preparation.
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
Manage discovery processes, including the collection, review, and production of documents.
Prepare and manage e-filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Review and summarize medical records and other case-related documents.
Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings with clients, witnesses, and experts.
Maintain case files and litigation calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Monitor and track case progress, ensuring timely completion of tasks
Skills Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in insurance defense.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
Familiarity with New York state court procedures and e-filing systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
Experience with medical record review and summarization is a plus.
