Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Soils Engineer to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to conduct soil testing and analysis to inform the design and construction of civil engineering projects, ensuring stability and safety in various geotechnical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and subsurface explorations to collect soil samples.
  • Perform laboratory and field testing of soil and materials to assess their properties and behavior.
  • Analyze data from soil tests and develop reports to provide recommendations for foundation design and construction.
  • Evaluate slope stability, settlement, liquefaction, and other geotechnical considerations for projects.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to integrate geotechnical insights into design plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to geotechnical practices and environmental standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on retaining wall design and seismic hazard mitigations.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate geotechnical findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license strongly preferred.
  • Strong design skills including retaining walls and shallow/deep foundation design. 
  • Knowledge of slope stability evaluations, seismic hazard mitigation, ground improvement techniques, etc. 
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
