Job Title: Environmental Engineer
Location: Temple, TX (On-Site Position)
Salary: $90K - $130K
Requirements: B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field / 5+ years of experience in environmental engineering roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment / Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, SARA, DOT HAZMAT)

Additional ways in which a candidate may stand out would be:

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and CAD software (AutoCAD, ProE preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies

Summary

The Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management compliance policies and procedures in accordance with ISO 14001
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local environmental regulations, including hazardous material management, waste disposal, air and water quality standards, and chemical safety
  • Serve as the primary contact for federal, state, and local environmental agencies
  • Monitor, track, and report environmental data related to emissions, wastewater, hazardous materials, and other environmental factors
  • Oversee environmental permitting, including stormwater, air quality, and hazardous waste
  • Develop and conduct training for employees related to environmental compliance and best practices
  • Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to resolve environmental challenges.

What You Need for this Position

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental engineering roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment 
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, SARA, DOT HAZMAT)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and CAD software (AutoCAD, ProE preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train employees and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies
